Marc Smit | Background | After finishing his study to become a teacher Marc started as a consultant in IT.
Soon after Marc was asked to become sales representative for a mid sized IT company. This position led him to several other IT related companies, first as sales rep but soon after as sales manager and sales director. Among others he was responsible for the Infrastructure and Security division of a large listed Dutch IT company (3.000 employees).
Having teached and coached most of his salesreps himself, Marc found the ideal way to combine two of his passions, sales and education. Incorporating all that he learned over the years Marc decided to join the Institute for Business Development (IFBD) in 2006. From that point on he trained and coached hundreds of salesreps throughout Europe, using a variety of instruments . Marc is fluent in Dutch, English, German and Spanish which enables him to work with companies with a focus that goes cross borders in Europe and the Americas, delivering a consistent proposition to the different branche offices.
Marc is an accredited Miller Heiman consultant and has delivered Miller Heiman workshops in all above mentioned languages. Using the Miller Heiman theory for Excellent Sales and the Buy Sell hierarchy IFBD has helped a variety of companies in the Medical device industry, IT , Finance and Media to obtain a double digit growth ratio in highly competitive markets. On the side Marc has studied Law .
